20 April 2026: Important Information on the Progress of Our Collective Agreement

 

We would like to inform you of the latest developments regarding the renewal of our collective agreement. Over the past few weeks, your bargaining committee has continued discussions with the employer to advance our demands and defend the priorities you have given us.
Discussions are continuing in a constructive atmosphere, but several issues remain under discussion. Your Bargaining Committee has made progress on some technical and administrative issues.
In addition, the major issues, in particular administrative policy14.17 of the CA: “A course for which a part-time faculty member has a right of renewal may not be assigned to a full-time professor” (new wording), remuneration and professional recognition are still the subject of active negotiations.

New meetings are planned for April 20. We will continue to stand firm in your interests and keep up the pressure to achieve meaningful progress. Your commitment and solidarity remain essential.

A major gain has already been achieved: an agreement in principle on the implementation of a group RRSP, with equal contributions between the Employer and the members. This is an important step towards greater financial security and greater recognition of your contribution to the university’s mission.
