18 March 2026: BARGAINING UPDATE
Your bargaining committee wishes to inform you that real and concrete progress has been made at the table with the Employer.
The parties have reached agreement on several important improvements, including editorial clarifications to the collective agreement and greater transparency in course postings and institutional communication processes.
Although formal monetary discussions have not yet begun, the Employer has provided a partial financial overview of the University. This represents an important preparatory step for the next phase of negotiations.
A major gain has already been achieved: an agreement in principle on the implementation of a Group RRSP pension plan, with equal contributions from the Employer and part-time faculty members. This represents a significant step forward in strengthening financial security and recognizing your essential contribution to the academic mission.
Negotiations will continue in the coming weeks. As we approach the next bargaining phases scheduled before April 20, member mobilization and support will be critical.
