We provide you with a brief update on the negotiations between the part-time professors at Saint Paul University and the University. I would also like to know when you would be available for a short phone conversation to discuss the status of negotiations and how you can support your bargaining team in this important campaign.
Despite several negotiation meetings and some progress, the main issues remain unresolved. The University has yet to satisfactorily address the union’s concerns about job security, recognition of seniority, transparency in the allocation of course loads and continuity of assignments. These issues are essential, not only for members, but also to ensure better stability and quality of education for students.
At this stage of bargaining, it is essential that the bargaining team be able to count on the support of the membership to demonstrate to the University that we are united and committed to a fair and equitable collective agreement.
